Habs' Lapierre suspended for hit on Nichol

03/05/2010 - Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Montreal Canadiens forward Maxim Lapierre has been suspended four games for a late hit on San Jose forward Scott Nichol.

Nichol had just hit the post with a shot when Lapierre shoved him into the end boards 1:50 mark into the third period of the Sharks' 3-2 win on Thursday. Nichol was injured on the play and did not return to the game. No penalty was called for the hit.

Lapierre, who will be eligible to return March 13 against Boston, has six goals and 12 points in 65 games this season.
